New Year, New Experience:
What to Expect from Your First Appointment
New year, new you. We have all heard it and many of us feel the pressure to work on ourselves come January 1st. Sometimes this means trying something new. It can be overwhelming to step into the unknown and do something we have never done before. Many people that enter our office are trying Chiropractic care for the first time and we know this can come with many uneasy feelings. Rest assured we strive to make your experience as easy as possible. Whether you are brand new to chiropractic, or you have been adjusted 100 times before, here is what you can expect your first time in our office.
Scheduling
Scheduling can happen with an email or a quick phone call. We will start by getting some basic information: your name, phone number and an email. Once we have this, we look to find a time on our schedule that works best for you. After we find a time that works, we walk you through what to expect.
Paperwork
First things first, we want to get to know you! We send over your initial office paperwork via email so you can fill it out and let us know a little more about yourself from the comfort of your own home. Once you have finished and filled it out, it will send it back to us and we can have it reviewed and ready to serve you at your first appointment.
Entering the Office
At that first visit our goal is to make you feel like family. We strive to have an office that is family friendly and welcoming. We know entering a new place can create uneasiness, so we will do our best to greet you by name, show you around the office, and familiarize you with the staff that will be taking care of you.
Getting to Know You
At that first visit you will get one on one time with a team member to go through everything that you are currently dealing with. We want to make sure we know everything there is to know about your case. Following that, we will provide you with some education on how your body functions and why you may be experiencing some of your dysfunction.
Assessments
We have multiple state of the art technologies in our office that give us a great baseline on your body’s overall function, as well give us the ability to track your progress throughout care. On your first visit in our office those assessments will include:
Thermal scan: Utilized to assess nervous system function of those nerves that exit the spine controlling the function of your muscles, organs, and glands.
Surface Electromyography: Utilized to assess the muscle tone and tension of the musculature that runs along your spine to measure energy output.
Heart Rate Variability: This is utilized to assess how well your body is adapting to stress and gives us a good overall view of your body’s autonomic function.
We will review these three technologies and based on what they are showing us, our doctors will let you know if they would like to see any x-rays to assess the exact structure of your spine (case by case basis).
Next Steps
After we have gathered all the information we need and have reviewed it with you we set up your follow up appointment to discuss insurance, what care looks like in our office, what you can expect from care and what is recommended to help you meet your health goals. If we have taken x-rays, they will be ready for you to review with us at that time as well.
We look forward to being a part of your health goals for the year to come! Let us know how we can serve you!
